Nokia rebranding ‘Ovi’ to ‘Nokia’ Services

Nokia is making a few changes to their services such as Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, and anything that has the name ‘Ovi’ in it. They’ll be dumping ‘Ovi’ and replacing it with ‘Nokia’. This appears to be an attempt at rebranding services normally associated with Symbian and MeeGo, and making the change to keep Nokia’s popular household name at the top of their products and services. Now that they’re a Microsoft partnered manufacturer for Windows Phone 7 devices, the ‘Nokia Services’ will see themselves on other WP7 devices as part of the software offerings as it was part of the Microkia deal a few months back.
