According to a new report from Gartner, marketing research company, direct sales figues for Windows Phone 7 devices sold in Q1 of 2011 show more than 1.6 million units, which amazingly was less than Windows Mobile devices which sold 2 million units?! I know. I attribute that to people being able to grab an older WinMo device for $30 outright as opposed to a new WP7 device outright for $400. I’m sure the total revenue would tell a different story between the 2 OS’s from Microsoft.
