Tweets from Egypt heard via voicemail thanks to Google, SayNow, and Twitter

• 01/02/2011

As always, Google is staying one step ahead of the rest of us. They announced on their blog that they have been working with SayNow and Twitter to make it possible for tweets to go out using voicemail only, with no Internet connection required.

This site is not taking sides, and are merely bystanders. That being said, to use this feature, users simply need to leave a voicemail on one of these international phone numbers (+16504194196 or +390662207294 or +97316199855). The message will automatically be tweeted, with the hashtag #egypt, and can be heard by going to twitter.com/speak2tweet. Best of all, this isn’t blocked as we reported here.
