Nokia tempts developers with an E7 and WP7 smartphone for free

• 18/02/2011

Nokia realizing they are in trouble with their smartphone developer community, is tempting and baiting them into adopting WP7 developer tools over their now lost Symbian and MeeGo tools by giving then free E7 and WP7 smartphones. Espoo has let their Launchpad members also know that Nokia is sending over $1000 worth of hardware. Also, Nokia is throwing in free access to the next Nokia World / Nokia Developer Summit, three months free tech support for all Nokia technologies (limited to 10 tickets), a free User Experience evaluation for one app, business development assistance, and help publishing apps on the Ovi store.

I don’t know that this is the way of the gun here, but when you have a company come in and kill your ‘loved by developers’ OS, is it right to give them a free E7 reminding them of the project they worked on and sweat for? Too Funny.
