TechCrunch Europe reports that Nokia first went to RIM for a possible partnership before going to Microsoft. We had all heard that Nokia was also considering going to Android OS as well as WP7, but RIM was also considered to be the main OS for Nokia devices going forward.

Other contributing factors to the final decision to go with Microsoft were reported as well, including Google’s decision to reject Nokia as the result of Nokia wanting to change the way Android uses Google maps, as well as how it utilizes PIM data. Rejection! Apparently, Microsoft is easy. I guess this would explain why Elop is targeting Android in mobile war…he’s hurt.
