Nokia E6 & X7 unveiled

The Nokia E6 and X7, the first devices to offer the updated Symbian software (dubbed “Anna”) were officially unveiled. According to Nokia’s press release:

This update offers a host of usability enhancements, including fresh, new icons, improved text input, a faster internet browsing experience and a refreshed Ovi Maps application with improved search and new public transport routes. The renewed software also offers a strong set of new features aimed at business users in particular, including true enterprise grade security with hardware accelerated encryption, and new e-mail features such as full meeting request support.

The E6, aimed at the business crowd, features a full QWERTY keyboard as well as a 2.46 inch touchscreen. It also boasts an 8-megapixel camera, GPS, and 681 hours of battery life on standby. The X7, targeted at “entertainment enthusiasts” sports a 4 inch AMOLED screen, as well as an 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording possible. The glass and stainless steel combination exterior gives it a sexy appeal.

Both devices are scheduled to be released Q2 2011, though pricing has yet to be confirmed.
