Nokia cutting 16,000 jobs and 4 week vacation

• 29/03/2011

Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, certainly isn’t making many new friends these days. Along with already having announced impending staff reduction (rumored to be around 16,000), Stephen Elop is now looking to change the 4 week vacation allotted to all staff (used by most to take a full month off during the summer).

Living in North America, it may be difficult to sympathize, seeing as the vacation time at most companies averages out to 2-3 weeks per year. But you can’t help feel a twinge of something knowing that Nokia employees have been handed one blow after another lately.

All that being said though, we can’t say Stephen Elop didn’t warn anyone.
