75 year old woman disables half of Armenian internet connections – accident?

An elderly woman in the village of Ksani, Georgia (country), was working around her home and accidentally (allegedly) cut a wire in her yard. The wire happened to be a fiber optic pipeline feeding internet to 90% of Armenian private and business internet users, and a few within her own country of Georgia as well. Internet service was down for 12 or so hours until Georgian Railway Telecom was able to make the fix.

The really sad part of all this is that despite her claiming innocence, or ignorance even, and it being an accident, she may face up to 3 years in prison because of this ‘sabotage’ to Armenian internet. Isn’t that just a little harsh? What do you think?
