BlackBerry App World now has in-app payments – app purchasing much faster

• 03/02/2011

RIM knows how to ride on the coattails of others after we heard they have launched BlackBerry App World 2.1 for all blackberry devices. This comes a few hours after Google announced yesterday that they would have new features within the Android Market, both via webpage and through the Mobile Apps on devices.

RIM’s App World now offers in-app payments as well, so developers have the opportunity to speed up the purchase process of their apps directly from the mobile app itself. The payments would be handled by RIM’s new payment system, and offers developers the chance to offer digital and virtual goods to users within the app. The SDK has been sent to all BlackBerry registered developers which will allow them to build it into existing apps as well as new releases.
