WWDC 2011 on June 5-9 hosted by Apple?

• 08/02/2011

We admit this might be really pushing the limits of speculation but we’re here to report breaking news so here it is.

According to AppleInsider a generic “business meeting” booking for June 5-9 at San Francisco’s Moscone West convention center may just be the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2011 conference hosted by Apple.  The booking appears on the convention center calendar as ‘convention/tradeshow’.

Speculation stems from the fact that there are other bookings already for every other week in June, and that Apple has hosted WWDC at Moscone West in the past.

Regardless of whether this is the actual event or just wishful thinking the more exciting bit is what is anticipated to be announced at WWDC 2011.

Expectation is high for an announcement about the next generation iPhone – iPhone 5 – or perhaps a new iPad.

With Steve Jobs announcing his leave of absence in January it is still up in the air who might take his place to make these anticipated product announcements, but the rumor is that it’ll likely be Phil Schiller who steps in.

Stay tuned for the official announcement of when and where WWDC 2011 will be held as it happens.
