no nfc iphone

Reports have been coming in from insiders who let  The Independent know that Apple will be skipping the technology, and will not be including it into the iPhone5. NFC (Near Field Communication) has been seen this year as a great technology to speed up mobile payments, which has already been embraced by other mobile manufacturers such as RIM for the new BlackBerry devices slated to come out, as well as Samsung in the Nexus S, Galaxy II and future devices to come.

The insider sources appear to be from ‘carriers’ in the UK (T-Mobile UK, Orange, O2, etc), who report that Apple is dissatisfied with the lack of NFC deployment standardization, and thus will likely not deploy it in iOS devices until they feel they can deliver a good customer experience using iOS devices and NFC together.
