Apple to Announce iPhone 5 on October 4; Issues Invites

• 27/09/2011

Finally, we have confirmation regarding the fact that Apple IS indeed going to launch something significant on October 4. Earlier today, the company issued invites to journalists and bloggers inviting them for an event scheduled to be held at 10 am on October 4, 2011. The venue would be Apple’s very own Cupertino campus.

The event has been christened “Let’s talk iPhone” and like we had heard from all those countless rumors, it will obviously be focused on the next generation iPhone which might see the light of the day there.

That said, let us also remind you that this will be the first iPhone release (if it happens) without Steve Jobs delivering the Keynote. It is expected that current CEO Tim Cook would be handling the proceedings this time round. Unless you were under a rock for the better part of 2011, I am sure you would be aware of the fact that Steve Jobs had retired from his active CEO position earlier this year citing ill health.

Apart from the rumored iPhone 5, there has been a talk going on around the possibility of Apple coming up with a low cost iPhone that’s cheaper than its mean model. As of now, it is still unclear whether this would actually happen.

It was just a few hours ago that we wrote a post on the new feature additions that might come to the iPhone and her ewer are now talking about an imminent launch next month!
