Verizon LTE mystery smartphone called Samsung DROID Charge

• 30/03/2011

At CES in January, there was a Verizon LTE smartphone that was teased a little to the crowds, but had no official name given to it. In the midst of super smartphones, many boasting 3D technology and dual-core processors, this device was quickly forgotten. It’s making its way back to the light with a Red Eye, joining the Verizon Droid lineup of devices called the ‘Samsung DROID Charge‘ (originally thought to be called Stealth, or SCH-i510).

It boasts 4G LTE connectivity with Verizon, 8 megapixel rear camera with 720p recording, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, HDMI-out, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Android 2.2 Froyo. It would be great if we see a press release by Verizon on a specific date and price, as well as an upgrade to Gingerbread on this if it wants to play against the Atrix and G2X, but we’ll have to wait and see.
