T-Mobile getting ready to launch unlimited data plan?

• 23/02/2011

According to TmoNews, a tipster sent in some info about T-Mobile‘s plans to launch a total unlimited data plan for its customers. This information was taken from a T-Mobile training document meant for T-Mobile staff only, but as we know…someone there loves TmoNews too much to keep this hidden from the public.

Here’s what it states;

Please note that a [sic] an unlimited plan for more than 5GB of monthly data use will launch sometime this year.

T-Mobile currently has an ‘unlimited’ data plan, but its subject to data throttling and a 5GB per month max use. That sure doesn’t sound like ‘unlimited’ does it? I guess T-Mobile figured that out as well, and have decided to educate their staff on the new plan, which we assume would remove the data cap and throttling limitations. The document is called “T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot” and is meant to help prevent customer “third-degree bill-shock”.
