T-Mobile adds 8 new HSPA+ markets – plans to shower us with 42Mbps by summer 2011

• 02/02/2011

T-Mobile has just announced that they’ve launched 21 Mbps HSPA+ service in 8 new markets (Albany, Augusta, Columbus and Macon, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Champaign, Illinois; Lansing, Michigan; and Rochester, Minnesota). That makes 4G coverage for over 200 million people, moreover, by summer 2011more than 140 million Americans will be showering in 4G coverage in more than 25 markets with 42Mbps speeds.

With coverage like this, it would definately suggest that T-Mobile plans on launching a few more 4G smartphones and tablets by this summer as well, cause right now they only have the Samsung Vibrant 4G announced.

All this sounds great, but if you’re outside the markets of 4G coverage, 3G is still just fine, especially for rural communities. Just go with what gives you the best coverage and you’ll be great! Showering in 3G still smells nice.
