Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, Xperia active and txt are official – images and video

At the CommunicAsia 2011 show in Singapore earlier this week, Sony Ericsson revealed to us three new smartphones running Android 2.3 Gingerbread that are due to hit the markets sometime in Q3 2011. The first (above) is the Xperia Ray, with excellent design, similar to the Xperia Arc and only 9.4mm thick. It has a 3.3 inch display with 854×480 resolution, 8.1 megapixel camera on the back and focus on overall look and ease of handling.

The next is the Xperia active, which also runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a 3 inch screen with 480×320 display resolution and a 5 megapixel camera on the backside. This is meant for ‘active’ lifestyles, and as such sports more of a ‘rugged’ design being dust and waterproof.

Lastly is the “txt”, and for obvious reasons, this is designed for the texter before anything else. A little lower on the scale of hardware, the txt has a 2.6 inch screen, full QWERTY keyboard and 3.2 megapixel camera. No dates or prices as of yet, but we look forward to them soon.
