An online appearance has recently been made by Motorola’s new Atrix 2, or Edison as it has also been named, before the company has even had chance to make an official announcement.
The reported Atrix 2 handset, which is being referred to as Edison, appears to have a sleek design and is a full touch screen smartphone. It is also claimed to include features like a 4.3 inch HD LCD display, 1GHz OMAP 4 CPU, 8GB internal data storage capacitym 1GB of RAM and a microSD card slot capable of storing up to 32GB.
The Atrix 2 is also reported to come with a single LED flash, 8-megapixel camera with HD 1080p video capture and will be running on the new Android 2.3.5 OS.
Compared to the current Motorola Atrix handset, which amongst other things uses a dual-core processor and runs on the Android 2.2 OS, the new handset looks to be a significant improvement.
So far the Atrix has not impressed many smartphone users but there is no guarantee that the new Atrix 2 will offer all the features that are being reported on the site and many users will be waiting until the official announcement that is expected to be made at the Mobile World Congress 2012 before getting too excited.
