LG G-Slate with 3D viewing and recording, says T-Mobile

• 02/02/2011

With all the recent teaser videos and photos that have been slyly leaked by LG about the new G-Slate, we finally have some official details about what the new Tablet will include thanks to T-Mobile.

The new G-Slate features:

  • 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor
  • 32GB of internal storage
  • 8.9-inch display
  • both a gyroscope and accelerometer
  • stereoscopic rear-facing video cameras capable of 1080p 3D capture, one of which doubles as a 5 megapixel still camera with LED flash
  • a third 2 megapixel camera up front for video chat over T-Mobile‘s HSPA+ network or WiFi

We’ve discussed elsewhere the use of 3D on tablets and smartphones and wonder just how useful 3D on the G-Slate will really be.  You’ll need glasses to view recorded or downloaded 3D content on the G-Slate, although no word yet about whether there are active or passive.

Though price has not yet been announced, the exciting thing about LG’s G-Slate is that it is slated for release in the US ‘this spring’ which, according to LG, means March.
