We all know about all these recent iPhone 5 rumors doing the rounds these days – all of which talk about the next generation iPhone coming sometime in October. These rumors were mostly based on accessory leaks and assumptions from industry analysts. Let us all not forget that until now, Apple has not even hinted about them coming up with a new handset next month – or did they?
Well, Apple has a policy for its employees that bar them from speaking about future products, which makes it almost impossible to siphon off any information from them. But then we wonder if this rule is applicable for members of the Apple Board as well. This is because Al Gore, former Vice President and a current board member of Apple might just be the first Apple “official” to confirm that the new iPhone is coming next month.
We are not sure if it is a goof up, but apparently, it happened at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in South Africa where he said; “Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug.” Note that he mentions ”iPhones” (plural) which might hint towards the possibility of two handsets being launched.
If you have been following news pertaining to the next gen iPhone, you might as well be aware that there is a talk of Apple coming up with two versions of the phone this time. Now, being member of the board – that too at Apple it is highly likely that Al Gore would be aware of their future line up and for the same reason, we do have reasons to believe him.
Anyway, let’s all wait and watch till October 5, the date on which the official announcement is expected to take place!
