Motorola has been the thorn in many a side in the development community for Android developers, what with locking certain partitions and encrypting files and such, making it very difficult to flash a ROM or port a build onto any Motorola Android devices. Well, maybe Motorola is changing their tune a bit, by tweeting today that the Xoom will be unlockable and relockable as developers choose. Nice touch!

From @Motorola‘s tweet;

The XOOM will have an unlockable/relockable bootloader that will enable developers to access hardware for development

If this gets a lot of traffic by developers, it’s likely to win them over a little more, giving them the first Android 3.0 Honeycomb Tablet to play with as they see fit. Could be a trend for future Motorola devices.
