Motorola dedicated to Android, just not that into Windows 7

• 16/02/2011

The Motorola-Android relationship is still going strong, likely a disappointment for Windows 7 who was hoping for a bit of the Motorola action.

Motorola’s corporate vice president of software and services product management Christy Wyatt said the cell phone maker is sticking with Android for now.  Wyatt shared her comments with IDG News Service saying, “I don’t envision us using Microsoft. I would never say never but it’s not something we’re entertaining now.”

At one point in the past Motorola was considering courtship with Windows 7 but being less than impressed with the innovation and timeline of key features, they moved on to Android.  According to Wyatt, Motorola was primarily looking for “an opportunity to create unique value” and that’s why they chose not to use Microsoft.

Motorola has found success with Android, which has helped them reinvent their presence in the mobile marketplace after some difficult times, so why mess with a good thing?
