LG Optimus Pad (G-Slate) tablet demo

• 14/02/2011

Courtesy of the folks over at Engadget, here’s a pretty sweet hands-on video showcasing the LG Optimus Pad at Mobile World Congress. As expected the new 8.9-inch, 3D-friendlyLG Optimus Pad (known as the G-Slate in N. America) is all it was cracked up to be.

More of a deeper look at this, on the inside the LG Optimus Pad, is running Android Honeycomb OS and is powered by a dual-core CPU. On the outside is a dual-camera array.  Combined, the optical and processing capabilities, make producing 3D video possible.  The drawback?  The screen can’t play back the video in 3D without glasses.  Also, the 3D camcorder seems like a memory hog.

Aesthetically the Optimus Pad is slim, with smooth curved corners, matte black back with the metallic strip down the middle sporting a “with Google” logo, and glossy screen on the business end. Since there’s still time from MWC 2011′s demo and the actual shipping date, hopefully any bugs and kinks will be ironed out before they reach eager hands everywhere.
