HTC’s Facebook phones revealed?

• 15/02/2011

The rumor mill doesn’t seem to get a break in the mobile world, and for HTC and their new Facebook phones it is no different.  Earlier we reported that HTC was going to be announcing two Facebook phones in MWC and it looks like that this time the rumor mill might have been right!

On Monday a couple of purported press photos illustrate two new HTC phones each with a dedicated Facebook button and icon, hinting that these two phones just may be the rumored social network phone.

Since these are just press photos the actual functionality of the Facebook button is not exactly clear, however it does suggest that it will feature some pretty in-depth integration with the popular social network.

What does seem more evident is that these devices may not be launched as branded Facebook smartphones but instead will simply be new Android-ready HTC devices that are heavily integrated with Facebook.

According to reports from pocketnow.com the first phone will be a touchscreen slate type device being released as the HTC Icon and the second smartphone, sporting a full QWERTY keyboard, will be launched as the HTC Snap 2.
