Honeycomb available for download on Nook Color

• 01/02/2011

We reported yesterday that Android’s 3.0 Honeycomb SDK had been ported to Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color. Today, the developer responsible for the porting (known as “deeper-blue”) has released his work for download. What’s working so far is graphics acceleration, accelerometer, wireless, touchscreen, and buttons. Work still has to be done to enable sound and DSP.

If you don’t have a Nook Color, don’t be sad. Google is slated to host an Android event tomorrow (Feb 2), where they will be showing an in-depth look at Honeycomb, complete with hands-on demos.
