Google Maps gets updated to 5.5 for Android – lots of improvements

Google has updated their Maps application for Android to 5.5, which adds a number of improvements. Some of which are Latitude features, which will show you where you are, and provide you with history, location data and the ability to ‘check-in’ with Places, similar to foursquare functionality. It also has the options to change your Latitude work and home address in case you move or get fired from your job.

On top of all that, the transit pages have been redesigned which will show you transit stop info, nearby stops, upcoming departures and station info.
