BlackBerry PlayBook will run Android Apps says RIM

• 11/02/2011

RIM must be pulling a Microkia move here with their new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, and jumping on the bandwagon instead of trying to compete. According to Bloomberg, the BlackBerry PlayBook will run Android Applications! There are a few stories in the wild right now stating that RIM can use Dalvik Java VM to run the apps, but RIM has other things in mind, and wants to look for other options instead of using Dalvik.

With this type of move, RIM could actually re-ignite the hype over their devices, especially the PlayBook! Would you buy an $800 Android Tablet or a $500 PlayBook that runs all the Android Apps just the same? This could make for an interesting year to say the least.
