Android 2.3.3 update for Nexus One OTA – Google Voice issues

• 01/03/2011

When we heard that Google was releasing Android 2.3.3 updates OTA (over the air) for Google Nexus One devices, many people became excited, mainly for the fact that there still seems to be some development for the Nexus One, despite having many newer devices that still haven’t even seen Gingerbread yet.

The downside to this story however is that some users after installing the 2.3.3 update found that their Google Voice no longer wanted to function properly. Apparently, if you download and install an old GV.apk, and then update it via the Android Market afterwards, it’ll correct the Google Voice issue. Still a pain though.

You can follow the instructions if you’re affected here at the Google Support Forum.
